I saw this artist's work at an apparel show ..I could not resist!!
Artist: Orna Lalo Company: Lalo Treasures
Lalo uses industrial resins plus natural and recycled materials to create her unique hand crafted pieces.
She has a design studio in Aseret, Israel, and a factory in Sofia, Bulgaria, where all products are hand crafted, finished and undergo a strict quality control process.
What's so interesting about the final production process is that she later takes her designs to the local villages surrounding the factory and teaches the local women, young and old to assemble the pieces.
In her words:
"I always think about the person who will be using my products. I want my colorful creations to smile at you and make you feel good." To create objects with a friendly feel and cheerful appearance, she adds, "The materials I use are man-made, but I create the illusion of a natural organic material with the use of color, translucency, opacity, and design and a variety of medias, allowing for plenty of imagination to take place with the end user."
